ABOUT MAXINE
I believe we are as unique as our stories. Telling them can reveal some truths about our identity, our passions and the reasons we are who we are. They tell of our accomplishments, big and small, of challenges that make us or sometimes break us .
Let me tell you a bit about one that almost broke me. It all began when I met a group of investors . Some were local and others flew in from other provinces in Canada. They taught and shared with us the benefits of learning about the forex market. We flew with them across provinces to meet with so called " Gurus of the market", They organized training sessions necessary to do well in the market. We even got tickets to see Tony Robbins.
We were fascinated.
At the time, I was trying to achieve the time and financial freedom that I had envisioned and to continue creating value for those I was privileged to share that with. Around the same time I was struggling to find a solution for one of my daughter's mental health while caring for my mom who had recently moved in with us.
It seemed like the perfect opportunity however, I was wrong as I discovered only too late that we were in on a Ponzi Scheme. I cannot describe the numbing, depressing thoughts that kept coming, the disbelief and the shame, as I felt like I failed in my desire to help.
As you can well imagine I was in a bad shape, but I was not ready to give up on my passion to continue creating value through products and services with a proven track record of delivering great results. I did it before, with over 20 years of experience under my belt at the time.
My identity, and my reason for being was greater than what happened. I am forever grateful to my teachers, mentors, family and friends who helped empower me to go past the fear and the noise. Who encouraged me to write down the lessons learnt and use it to help others avoid such pitfalls.
